The Jesus the World Needs to See
For the most part, when the world thinks of Christians and Christianity they think of bible thumping fundamentalists who think that they are better than everyone else. They see Christianity as rules and regulations and constant judgement/condemnation of the their lifestyle. The reason for this is that the church has lost it’s first love and has become for the most part rules and regulations which in reality is nothing more than religion From the very beginning, however, God has been all about relationship. because rules and regulations without relationship is nothing more than dead religion and will ultimately lead to rebellion. Gen 1:28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heavens, and all animals that move upon the earth.
Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold! I have given you every herb seeding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree seeding seed; to you it shall be for food. (before the Lord ever spoke about rules it says He gave and He provided for Adam and Eve and He reminded them of all He had done for them before He spoke about the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Thus He was establishing relationship. )
Exo 20:1 And God spoke all these words, saying,
Exo 20:2 I am Jehovah your God, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. (once again before the Lord gave the 10 commandments, He reminded the Israelites of all that He had done for them by bringing them out of Egypt and they did not go out empty handed, they plundered the Egyptians of their wealth.) Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. (God , gave the very best He could give to re-establish and reconcile humanity to Himself)
We as Christians need to return to our FIRST LOVE and realize that this is our highest calling. We are called to walk with Him before we are called to anything else. If we do not walk with Him we will not know His heart, and we will become disconnected from the source of our Salvation. The church has no power because it has no relationship with the Lord or each other. Jesus walked in power because He did what He saw the Father doing thus He was in constant fellowship with His Father. He could command the dead to rise, the lame to walk, the blind to see, the deaf to hear and demons to flee because He saw the Father doing these very things. It is not for us Christians to be the world’s judges or each other’s judges for that matter and to interpret and administer God’s justice. The Holy Spirit has that position already filled and He does a much better Job than we ever could. Rom 2:3 You didn’t think, did you, that just by pointing your finger at others you would distract God from seeing all your misdoings and from coming down on you hard?
Rom 2:4 Or did you think that because he’s such a nice God, he’d let you off the hook? Better think this one through from the beginning. God is kind, but he’s not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change.
When Jesus was about to leave this earth He called His disciples and said that they were to be His witnesses(martus- a witness (literally [judicially] or figuratively [generally]); by analogy a “martyr”: – martyr, record, witness.) A witness simply tells what he has seen and heard. Rev 12:11 They defeated him through the blood of the Lamb and the bold word of their witness. They weren’t in love with themselves; they were willing to die for Christ. (This is how the enemy is defeated and the world is won for Christ)
Let us put down the finger of accusation and open wide our arms of Love 1Jn 4:16 We know it so well, we’ve embraced it heart and soul, this love that comes from God. God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us.
Jn 4:19 We, though, are going to love—love and be loved. First we were loved, now we love. He loved us first.
