A Gold Watch
When I think of a gold watch I think of a pocket watch given to a retiree. Or a fancy wrist watch, i.e., a Rolex. In the dream I had last night I was given a gold wrist watch. I remember that there were people who tried to steal it from me and then there were others who wanted to buy it from me.
The following scripture was dropped into my heart following the dream.
Eph 5:15 — Eph 5:16 (NKJV Strong’s)
Walk in Wisdom
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Time is a precious commodity that one cannot control and that which is given to is a gift from God. In the dream I mentioned people trying rather forcefully, I might add, to steal the watch from me. These represent people and things, I believe that either steal your attention, I call people like this energy drainers. The watch represented time which they may or may not know is a priceless commodity.Things represent those “things” that can dominate our time and the hours fly by. example, I remember when the internet first came out I would spend hours mindlessly searching it. The watch in my dream was on my wrist where it was both visible to me and others. It was not in my pocket where it would get an occasional glance at most. A portion of time is given to every individual and were are commended as Christians to redeem, make the most of every opportunity, the time because the days are evil.
I had a similar dream 8 years ago that I am reposting below.
I had a dream Sunday July 18, 2010. The reason for putting
the date is that it was my birthday which gave further significance to
In this dream, I was riding in the back seat of a car with Sonny, the
drummer of a church band that I used to play in when I was in
college, I noticed that he had a watch on his wrist; the watch had a
white gold band, the face of the watch was encircled in diamonds and
the watch face itself was dark pink in color. The hands of the watch
had hands on them, closed fists with the index fingers extended. He
took this watch off of his wrist and strapped it onto mine. I remember
not particularly wanting this watch but he insisted that I wear it
anyway. If this was all there was to the dream, I wouldn’t have
thought much more about it except that the person who gave me the
watch in my dream was no longer alive, he had died several years ago.
The interpretation is that time is precious. The old adage that you
don’t appreciate something or realize just how valuable it is until
you no longer have it applies here. The person in my dream no longer
had time and was cognizant of the fact that his time was over but also
knew that mine wasn’t , hence he no longer had a use for the watch but
knew that I did. I did. The Lord told me to measure my time here on
this earth and not to live as if it were endless.
The scripture the Lord impressed upon my heart was:
(Eph 5:15) See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as
(Eph 5:16) redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Then on Monday the Lord placed one word into my spirit., Chronos .
Chrónos is a period of measured time, not a period of accomplishment
The basic message was/is that my/our days are numbered. Time, once
gone can never be recaptured so we must use it with wisdom and care
while we are here on this earth. Also communicated was that I/we must
live our lives with a sense of urgency and not like we have all the
time in the world. We need to live with more than a mental assent to
the fact that the Lord’s return is immanent.
Anyways, that was my dream and what the Lord showed me about it.
