Whose Training Your Children?

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go,

And when he is old he will not depart from it.

I had a dream 10/12/2016 where I saw a long table filled with colorful helmets. Sort of the kind one would expect a child to wear when bike riding . There were many children at the table going through the helmets . Nothing so far in this dream is frightening because it shows something that kids would probably do. However, these were not normal helmets.  What was invisible to the children but visible to me was a huge spider lurking there. As eqch child would select a helmet this spider would shoot out a web strand and attach it to the helmet.  The child did not freak out because he could neither see the spider,which was huge, nor sense that there was a piece of webbing attached to the helmet he was wearing. The ultimate goal of a spider is to capture its prey in its Web and then devour it. The prey here, if you will, is the minds of the children.  What I found astonishing is the fact that there were no parents supervising these kids. Which is why I posted the scripture from Proverbs 22:6 in the beginning of my post. The spider in this dream I firmly believe represents the demonic. Satan and the legions of hell are out to capture the hearts and minds of children and enslave them.

The Word says in.

1 Peter 5:8

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

We, as parents, grandparents need to take an active roll in raising up godly children.

    Absolutely what is happening. I have an 8 and 4 year old and can’t belive what they are sneaking (sometimes not even sneaking) into cartoons and supposedly young adult (pre-teen) shows. Not to mention music and video games. So much demonic stuff! Your dream is spot on and an uncomfortable truth.

  2. The bright, captivating worldwide web! 😦
    When my daughter was small, I decided to just not have a TV ….. One of the best decisions of my life. What a time-eater it is! And so tempting to watch a cartoon here, a movie there, and on it goes. She grew up without one, and we and our other no-tv-friends did fun things instead. She still doesn’t have one. Her son, my grandson, never watches TV or videos, and is happy and healthy ….. he goes to a Waldorf school (they were founded by Rudolf Steiner, a Christian, and they don’t push technology on children). So it can be done! 🙂

  3. Hello Tony

    Just pasting an article I wrote in 2014 to confirm what you are saying… as the battle of today is about the next generation for they are the future and fruit of our walk in God…

    A scripture that speaks to me much to me is in the Psalms… as I am now old and grey headed :-}

    “Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come” Psalm 71:18

    for a

    “Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;
    and to depart from evil is understanding”
    Job 28:28

    We read in proverbs that “Wisdom cries out” (Proverbs 1:20-33) in the common course of everyday life. It ever seeks to instruct even the simple and the wayward but it is the responsibility of man to give heed to her voice. In all things pertaining to truth there is a response required for an individual to walk in the “WAY” of God. True wisdom, to the heart of one who seeks to be exercised and disciplined by its reigns, brings a growing wonder of His Life. We read that this wisdom seeks and cries out for men to hear and embrace her. Wisdom builds and brings safety and confidence; it builds strong families that produce children who are strong in the ways of our God. Strong families produce a strong Church. Paul writes to Timothy…

    “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee,
    which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois,
    and thy mother Eunice;
    and I am persuaded that in thee also”
    2 TIMOTHY 1:5

    Without the fear of the Lord as the atmosphere of the home and the Church of God there is little vitality or strength. Without the fear of the Lord the sin and corruption of the world infiltrates and weakens the foundation of the home. There is no hope for true understanding within the lives of individuals without the ministration of the fear of the Lord. Weakened homes produce children who are set adrift in the world without a compass or foundation upon which they can build strong and confident lives. We see all around us the tragic consequences of a gospel that has rendered the “fear of the Lord” as a concept that is old and outdated; acceptance and tolerance is the new “enlightened” message.

    The “fear of the Lord” brings us to the “true understanding” of the Glory and Majesty of our God. It brings parameters into the lives of those who know and grow in its way. That True Understanding enables us to depart from iniquity and produce strong ministrations of Light that will shine into the darkness of this present world. This ministration is not simply by the religious words of men but the Word of Truth that is ministered from lives that demonstrate authenticity by a life well lived in God.

    We hear much in terms of teaching and doctrine in our day; without the “fear of the Lord” they remain words without power. Doctrines without the substance of life to demonstrate the verity of their declarations produce a Church that is declining in its influence and vitality within and without.

    Where there is no Fear of the Lord,
    Holiness, Righteousness and Truth
    will have little impact
    In our homes
    And in
    the Church of God
    And correspondingly
    In the world in which we live

    “I can know if I truly fear God
    by determining if I have a genuine hatred of evil
    and an earnest desire to obey His commands”
    Jerry Bridges

    • Isaiah 29:13
      Therefore the Lord said:
      “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths
      And honor Me with their lips,
      But have removed their hearts far from Me,
      And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

    • I firmly that the fear of the Lord is an experience one has and one walks in continually and not sinply a commandment of men to be taught.

  4. fully agree you cannot teach it, it comes from touching His presence but men must still choose to know of it… In seeking Him we find Him…

    “For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord…”
    Proverbs 1:29

    May we see Him more clearly in the days ahead…
