Jars of Clay
2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it will be evident that such overwhelming power comes from God and not from us.
I had a vision this morning as I was praying. In the vision I saw white, I am assuming, Alabaster Jars because they were white. I saw that the outside was white being that they were alabaster, however, the inside of the Jars were full of dirt up to the rim of the jar.The dirt in the jars was hard because, I believe, it had been there for a long time. It is worthy of note that the outside of the jars were white and clean-looking. Then I saw a stream of water being poured on them. At first the water just poured over the jar because the dirt inside was so hard. As the water kept on pouring, however, I saw the dirt begin to loosen and soften and I then saw mud which meant that the water was beginning to penetrate. The water kept on pouring until there was no trace of mud inside of the vessel, only clean drinkable water.
God shares His glory with no one. So the dirt in the vessel is what I will call “self”. The water only became drinkable when the dirt, “self”, was totally cleansed from the vessels. Nobody in their right mind would want to drink muddy water. While the Lord may be pleased to put His power in jars of clay He will not allow His power to be polluted with, “self”, just as He will not share His glory with anyone.
Tony, I weep as I read this. my heart is broken like Jeremiah. God’s people. so earthly. so full of the things of the earth. so packed with the earthly rather than the heavenly. so earth bound. but His vessels, none the less. as we, that ‘speak for God’ keep pouring the water of the Word of God over them, whether it looks like it is changing or not, it is changing! as we keep on pouring, the water will penetrate. the water will soften. the water will cleanse. until the earthly is changed to the heavenly. vessels worthy of the Masters use. I believe it Tony. I take comfort and hope and encouragement this morning. ~Sophereth
Amen , may it be so.
Tony, this vision that you have had, goes with the word from Spurgeon that Jacqui has posted today. O the wonder of it all. ~Sophereth
I will have to check it out. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
you’re welcome.
Tony, reminds me of a dream in my early days as a new believer of seeing the path under my bedroom window to my childhood home having been completely dug up along its length. Furthermore, it was cracked open across the width and I saw dirty water flowing into (not from!) the kitchen below my room. “Dad won’t be happy!” was my thought.
Upon waking, I realised the drain came from my grandmother’s house at the end of the garden. It clearly needed an action plan and I learned my ancestral links needed cleansing by the Lord’s Blood. After that had been done I had a dream of being in the bathroom and clean wholesome water flowing into and out of the bath I was in. Thank you Lord for your mighty power of salvation.
Powerful dream Richard. People dont realize the generational bondage they carry. What a powerful reminder.
This is definitely a time when we need to be filled with the Word and not ourselves. As long as our humanity remains and is not replaced with the Spirit of Christ, the contents of our soul remain disagreeable and unacceptable. Now is a time for total change, for a reversion into the full likeness.
Amen. The world is waiting for the sons of God to be revealed and the water that the vessels contain must be pure.
100% agreed.
Hi Tony! Thank you for sharing this dream.
I need to bring to your attention that God’s word for His Church is different from His OT word given before the new creation, the Body of Christ. Jesus actually has given us His glory and, positionally speaking, we have already been glorified by being in and of Him.
“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me” (John 17:22-23a)
“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be co formed to the likeness of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified he also glorified.” (Ro. 8:29-30)
The truth is so much better than we presently apprehend. 😊
The glory of which Jesus speaks is truly a gift given to His body for the purpose of making us one. It is not for making us equal with God. I am just clarifying your comment here. When Jesus prays to His Father to glorify Him with the glory He had in His presence before the world began, He does not include the body of believers in that prayer. When He prays for believers to be where He is that they may behold His glory He is not praying for the glory given to the body.
I agree with you that the Holy Spirit is the teacher and it is He alone who opens the eyes of our understanding. With that said I say still , as I read scripure , that the glory given to the body by Jesus was for the purpose of making it one as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one. The other reason is so that the world may know that that the Father has sent the Son. And, that we may be made petfect in one.
Jn 17:22 — Jn 17:23
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
There is no explanation here just scripure .
One day we shall be like him because we shall see Him as He is.
1 John 3:2
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
We must take all of the NT Scriptures into consideration regarding this mystery as Paul referred to it. In this limited space, I will point you mainly to Ephesians. Consider also reading what the Lord is giving for me to write about it so far: https://thelordiswithus.com/2016/05/17/our-exalted-position-introduction/

Im not sure what it is you wish me to read in Ephesians. I read both your blog pieces as well. I am not sure what you are trying to point out.
You are not frustrating me Deanna. I was merely trying to understand what you were getting at. God is glorified when we bear lasting fruit. Jesus is glorified when the body is united and not divided.
Amen! Lastly, we must read the word (book of Ephesians in this case) slowly and digest it for progressive understanding and revelation.
I have read it many timed and will continue to read it again and again.
Then you’ll see “the mystery” as I am trying to share, and this dialogue will have served its purpose. It’s such a blessing – He has given us His glory…
He has given us His glory to unite us, to perfect us, and to cause the world to know the the Father senr Him
We are changed from glory to glory.
2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Isn’t it wonderful?
Yes, seeing the body of Christ united in love and in so doing glorifying God is wonderful. May the Lord make it so.
Amen, brother! We have been given fullness in Christ (Col. 2:10) – past tense. May He cause us to apprehend it…
