Abuse Of God’s Sheep From The Pulpit

I had a dream 11/26/2015 where once again I saw a preacher standing at a pulpit. Only this time I saw the preacher hurling Bibles at people in the congregation.      He hurled the Bibles in such a way that they did not fly open but remained closed when he threw them. The people in the congregation who were his targets were hit in the face with the back corner of the Bible. In the dream he continued throwing them indiscriminately at the people in the congregation.  What is weird is the fact that the people, as I’ve seen in previous dreams and visions, had their eyes riveted on the pastor.  These Bibles were hitting people in the face and greatly wounding them yet they did not try to duck or get out of the way of the Bibles being thrown. It was as if this was a normal thing to be abused like this.
On a personal note I can relate to this as I have belonged to some congregations in the past where the preacher abused the sheep often. I was a recipient at times of the abuse.

I believe that the following scriptures are appropriate here.

Luk 12:42 — Luk 12:47
And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has. But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

If one can look at your dream and see it through the eyes of the “Early Church” and scope out through this lens more revelation may emerge.

This is the Church that almost defeated the Roman Empire, until Constantine reached out to them and gave them legitimacy( property, tax free status and protection) read 501C-3- State Church.

The Early Church was woven from another cloth which it’s leadership still had an Apostolic- Prophetic thread woven in to it’s foundations.

This model should also be seen as the same model that God has been trying to get mankind to see since Adam’s fall in the garden. This points to the model God presented to Adam. It was based upon God’s role as Adam’s Father and Adam and Eve were his Sons.

This same model was the one that Paul and the other Apostles presented to the early believers. It is squarely rooted in the Kingdom of God’s Father- Son model as was presented to Adam and Eve.

It is also still the same identical one God used when Jesus came and is still the same one he steadfastly releases through the prophetic flows upon the earth today. He still intends as promised to raise Sons to build his house with Jesus here on earth.

The abuse experienced in your dream does not just apply to those who just oversee and abuse pulpits. When we can see it using this lens of God’s refractor than the scriptures you were given become applicable to all stewards houses across the history of all of mankind.

This house was the venue that the early Church was established upon. It is also not the same house that Jesus promised the religious community he was going to tear down and rebuild.

As a father of three in the natural it becomes clearer now that it is important for me and as many Father’s that are so led to remove any and all barriers that I or my wife have brought to the table of my home which we have fed our physical and spiritual kids from.

This also means that if we assume that it is necessary to ‘throw our bibles at them out of frustration’ it is important for us to seek forgiveness and to repent to them.

In this environment there can be so much more room in the Spirit for the necessary grace to flow in our lives but more important, their lives.

More grace for both Fathers and Sons( Eve included) in order for us to receive the promised portions of food in our collective households for this current season and our remaining due seasons to come, all while we continue to look for our Master’s eminent return.

  2. I’ve been s victim of verbal bible hurling as well, Tony. It’s weird, but if you’ve discerned what’s going on in church and with the pastor…the lambasting will start…… until your bloody and battered and eventually leave the church. Sometimes I have thought the Lord Jesus allows this to happen so that you can warn others of this apostasy. A good shepherd leads and guides, he doesn’t beat the flock with a verbal whip.

    • I am sure you and I could swap war stories Scarlett. I am just blessed that the Lord removed me from the congregation(s) where this kind of stuff goes on unchecked. My heart goes out to those who turned their backs on God and Christians because of the abuse of these pastors.

Tony, I’m getting on this dream that it’s not abuse at all , it’s straight up pastors hitting their congregations members in Sin with the hard truth , but some of these members are just numb to it , they are smacked in the face hard by the truth , yet stare straight ahead at the pastor with a blank stare it did not phase them at all ! The bibles are closed not opened because the Pastor already preached the word to them! Getting hit in the face by the corner of a bible may hurt , but the WRATH of God would hurt a lot more!

    • Interesting interpretation, however, that is not the sense that I got in the dream although I can see where you could get that. In the dream I sensed that the people were being abused and had been for so long that it was a normal occurrence which is why they didn’t duck when Bibles were being thrown at them.

Amen the dreamer would have the feel for that. I’m so thankful for brother Eddy, he had all my dreams, visions words from the Lord saved, we have been uploading them. My computer crashed ,so I lost everything years ago.

      • The Lord moved me to print out my dreams so that I have a printed copy.

      • Just out of curiosity, how did he save them?

      • I agree with you Tony that this is about abuse but also something interesting about the bibles being thrown. None of them were opened. They were all closed. No revelation, no instruction, no testimony of what God did in his life. The Bible was a closed book.

Many today give their thoughts and opinions from the pulpit rather than expounding the Word of God. A closed book means there is no revelation and with no revelation, there is ignorance of the ways of God and His instructions of righteousness.

        Hosea 4:6
        New King James Version
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

        Proverbs 29:18
        New King James Version
        Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;
But happy is he who keeps the law.

Also, hearing of the ‘dead letter’ brings with it a ‘numbness’ to the Word of God and in that ‘numbness’, there can be no ‘penetration’ of God’s word to bring repentance.

      • Powerful revelation Jerry. No revelation, no instructions, no nothing.

  4. Exactly! It is that ‘numbness’ to God’s Word that is the real issue. God is seeking for those who will allow Him to come into them and give them His passionate heart for the lost but who will allow Him to so transform them to reach this, His purpose? We might say of someone, “they need to have a fire lit under them”. We say this but fail to recognize our own lack of passionate fire within our own hearts. How passionate are we if all we do is stand on the banks of a river, see someone being carried away from the swift waters and wonder how they got into such a predicament and do nothing to risk our own life to save another?

I received a vision of that very thing and was struck by all those that just stood on the sidelines, making their comments, casting their doubts and criticisms but never moving from their spot. No greater love has anyone than he lay his life down for his friend. We stand on the sidelines and assure ourselves that they one drowning is no friend of ours and so we do not have to do anything to save them. We, very happily, give ourselves a disclaimer.

So, both the one casting the unopened bible and the ones receiving these blows are at fault. Neither are walking in revelation. You got out because of revelation by the Spirit but many remain because they have made a practice of not seeking the Spirit of Truth in their lives and have become numbed by their choices.

  5. Amen to that Tony.
