The Harvest Is Plentiful

Mat 9:37 — Mat 9:38
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

I had a dream early this morning where I saw a building called church and there were people inside worshiping . Outside of the church was a huge wheat field, however, those inside the building called church either deliberately chose to ignore its existence or were just plain oblivious to its existence.  The wheat that I saw in this wheat field was golden brown and ready to be harvested yet there were no harvesters in the wheat field harvesting the wheat.
Then I saw a hand reach into the church and grab bunches of people, pull them out of the building called church, and place them into the wheat field. It would seem that in my dream they were placed there whether they liked it or not.

One has to come to the realization that the world needs Jesus. Those in the building called church should already know and have a relationship with Him.

This reminds me of when I was a salesman. The boss used to come into the office and kick sales reps out saying nobody is going to buy from you in here.

The same principle applies to the church.

  1. The hand of the Lord plucking those people out of the church building are those who are walking in relationship with Him. The others that were not “plucked out” are not in relationship with Him and cannot be trusted to do the work of harvesting.

God had to use His hand but would prefer that we are guided by His eye but because many have not drawn to that close of relationship with Him, He used His hand to pluck them out. Very very few are guided by His eye and most do not know what that means. Thanks for sharing that dream.

  2. God still uses dreams to speak to mankind, even to believers but the reason for this is found in Job 33:14. He speaks once and twice but man does not perceive it. So, God uses the dreams. When Miriam, Moses’s older sister, complained that she was a prophet and was envious of her brother, God responded that to the prophets, He gives them dreams and visions with “dark sayings”. The modern day term is “parables”. This is the language of the Spirit. But with Moses, He speaks plainly, face to face.

This is what His goal is with us, to speak to us plainly, without the need for “dark sayings” as we will be speaking and understanding according to that “heavenly language” which is heart to heart. Not mind to mind but heart to heart or spirit to spirit which we often call our ‘heart’.

The more we grow in Him, the easier it gets to recognize the parables or dark sayings and understand what the Spirit is saying. With Daniel the prophet, it was because of his intimacy with the Lord that he learned to “interpret” the dreams but he still needed to seek the Lord in prayer to receive this knowledge.

But Jesus said these mysteries are for us who believe. We grow into it. The more we walk with Him according to the Spirit, the less we will dream and have visions. I very rarely have either any more but early in my walk, I had dreams and visions several times a week and slowly, as I grew in understanding and maturity in the things of the Spirit, the frequency of those dreams and visions disappeared. Now, I have only to “ask” of Him and He shows me.

Now, I still have visions and dreams from time to time but I’ve found that these are in those areas where I have not responded to His voice calling out to me. We all have many areas in our lives where this is true. “For now we see through a glass darkly but then, we shall know as we are known.”

    1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Many still believe the first part and have difficult with the latter part. Just as many today still believe that the size of their faith remains as a mustard seed and for some, this may be true. Unless that seed falls into the ground and dies, it cannot produce fruit. Many have not died to self and cannot produce the fruit of the kingdom. But our faith was designed to grow into a great tree but most miss that part of what Jesus said.
