To: all those who love His appearing.
Now there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that Day; and not to me only, but also to all those who love His appearing. (2Ti 4:8) One would think that this would be the ultimate desire of every believer to be in the presence of Jesus for all of eternity. With that said, I had a vision where I saw a church building and then I saw a hand reach down from heaven and remove the roof of the church so that everything and everyone that was inside was exposed to the light. When the roof was removed those inside, instead of looking up and welcoming His appearing, scattered like rats looking for a place to hide because they had been exposed to the light. I remember a passage of scripture that goes along with this dream/vision because it’s been a while since this happened, that is found in the gospel of John.
And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who practices truth comes to the Light so that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God.(Joh 3:19-21)
This has got me searching my own heart and asking the question, would I love His appearing or would I look for a place to hide like those in my vision above. Now, I am not implying that I am not saved . What comes to mind is what Paul said to the church at Corinth when he was being judged by them unjustly.
My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.
No one sees what is contained in the heart but God alone and we should all have our hearts before the Lord so that we may live lives that are pure and holy before the Lord.
