Filthy Rags or Robes of White
On August 22, 2009 I had a dream. In this dream I saw the angels clothing the people of God in white robes. However, there were among these people others who were clothed in filthy rags. These refused to remove the garments of rags that they were wearing and put on the white robes that were being offered. In fact, they were offended that the white robes were being offered to them in the first place.
What I gathered from the dream is that those that refused the white robes and instead wanted to keep their filthy rags were the ones who trusted in their own works of righteousness which blinded them and filled them with arrogance and pride.
All of us should take a lesson form the following parable that Jesus tells about the wedding guest that didn’t have a wedding garment.
“When the king came to see the guests, he saw a person who was not dressed in the wedding clothes provided for the guests. He said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without proper wedding clothes?’ “The man had nothing to say. Then the king told his servants, ‘Tie his hands and feet, and throw him outside into the darkness. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.’ “Therefore, many are invited, but few of those are chosen to stay.”
