Eyes to See and Ears to Hear
Isaiah 42:19 Who is blind except my servant or deaf like the messenger I send? Who is blind like the one who has my trust or blind like the servant of the LORD?
When you think of the 5 senses given to us by the Lord, the loss of smell, taste, or touch would be sad but we could still function. However, the loss of the last 2 would be devastating and cause us to be dependent upon another to be our eyes and ears which is precisely how the above scripture describes the servant of the Lord.
This coming move of God will require both natural blindness and deafness to be able to see and hear what God is doing. Otherwise we will find ourselves like the Jews of Jesus’ day as described in: Isaiah 6:9,10 And he said, “Go and tell these people, ‘No matter how closely you listen, you’ll never understand. No matter how closely you look, you’ll never see.’ Make these people close-minded. Plug their ears. Shut their eyes. Otherwise, they may see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their minds, and return and be healed.”
Isaiah 42:16 I will lead the blind on unfamiliar roads. I will lead them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light in front of them. I will make rough places smooth. These are the things I will do for them, and I will never abandon them. What a difficult thing to not only be blind but to be lead on to unfamiliar roads. Once again, it is only the blind and the deaf that will see and hear what the Lord is doing in the Land and those that wish to walk along with Him on this path will have total reliance on Him.
